The conference will take place on Monday, "This is Hanukkah", Bet Tevet (29.12.2008) at Kibbutz Yavne following completion of the "Kiddushin" portion and Women's Seder.

Rabbi Haim David Kobelsky, head of the "Meorot - Daily Page" institutions, Rabbi Avihai Ronzki, the IDF Chief Rabbi, and Rabbi Benzion Alegaazi, head of the "Tsurba Merabana" Institute at Kerem B'Yavne, will be guests of honor at the First Conference on Daily Torah Page learning of the entire Religious Kibbutz Movement.  The conference will be attended by some 250 people including: Kibbutz Rabbis, Lesson givers, learners of the Daily Torah Page at the kibbutzim, and many other friends who combine daily torah learning into their working life.

This festive conference which will include Gemara lessons and Mitzva meals is scheduled for Monday " This is Hanukkah",  Bet Tevet (29.12.2008) at Kibbutz Yavne following completion of the "Kiddushin" portion and Women's Seder and the beginning of learning the "Nezikin" portion.

Nehemiah Rappel, Secretary-General of the Religious Kibbutz Movement, who will chair the conference said that the Daily Torah Page has created momentum for daily Gmara learning at the Kibbutzim.  The purpose of the Conference is to celebrate the "Finishing half of the Shas", to strengthen Torah studies and to enlist new members.  In addition to hundreds of youths and elderly, many young girls who regularly study Gmara will also participate.

During the conference Eliezer (Laiser) Adler, member of Kibbutz Massuot Yitzhak, will be presented with a special award for giving Gmara lessons for over 50 years. Laiser, who was born 85 years ago in Belz to a family dealing in trees, spent World War II wandering around Europe and Asia and at the end of the war helped to smuggle Jews to Israel and help them with their absorption. For many years, he was a farmer and social secretary, and throughout the years studied and taught many students.
